Fitzpatrick's Fitted Bedroom's first job in September was to design a fitted bedroom in an awkward loft space in Read, in the Ribble Valley, near Burnley in Lancashire. We truly maximized all available space here, by creating lots of storage under the sloping ceiling and fitting bespoke angled doors. We even added a stable-door effect door over one of the bedsides, so as not to waste any space! On the opposite side of the room, we fitted out the angled alcoves with shelves. This job was completed in Light Ferrera Oak in a PVC-edged door. |
In early June, Fitzpatrick's Fitted Bedrooms transformed a small, awkward shaped room into a stylish yet traditional dressing room, which lends itself to the rural setting of this home, in the village of Brindle, Chorley, near Preston, Lancashire. This previously dark room is equipped with ample wardrobe space to house our customer's vast suit collection, plus several large drawers. We positioned a large mirror opposite the small window, to reflect light all around the room, and added a lighting pelmet which spans the entire length of the wardrobes. The angled shelving unit at the entrance to the room also maximises the space. The doors are a Windsor mitre frame in Lissa Oak with a simple brushed steel knob. "We have been very pleased with the service from Fitzpatrick's from start to finish. Lee took the time to design the best use of space in an awkward room and talk us through all the design options to help us make the right choice. The final product is very good quality, installed with great skill and professionalism and it looks great. Lee is polite, friendly and honest which is so important when you invite tradespeople into your home. We would highly recommend Fitzpatrick's to anyone looking for a quality fitted furniture." - Mr & Mrs Kideer, Brindle, Chorley, Lancashire. June 2014 In Preston, Lancashire, Fitzpatrick's Fitted Bedrooms helped a customer to disguise their gas and electric meters under their main staircase, while creating extra storage in an otherwise wasted space. As shown in the photographs below, the left cupboard and corner unit house the meters, while the right hand double cupboard is a handy shelving unit, made in Super White Ash carcasses with a vinyl shaker door, all topped with a worktop in Lissa Oak. Fitzpatrick's Fitted Bedrooms recently completed another two-tone bedroom in Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire. This time the bedroom was a single, and included a headboard, bridging unit complete with down-lights, a bedside set of drawers and a large run of wardrobes. What's clever about these wardrobes though, is that they hide a chimney breast in the room, whilst all being uniform in their outward appearance. The pictures don't really do the work justice, but we have shown the internals and externals below. The work has been completed in an Opera Walnut carcass with a White Avola PVC edged door and keybar handles. This is what our happy customer had to say in their feedback questionnaire: "I know old properties aren't the best to work in as the walls are never straight, but the design work around the chimney breast etc was brilliant. I was completely satisfied with the finished job. Now planning the next bedroom and will be in touch!" - E. Westhead, Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire. February 2014 Fitzpatrick's Fitted Bedrooms were working in Clitheroe, in the Ribble Valley, at the end of January, completing a fitted master bedroom. The work included a bridging unit over the bed, complete with an angled door to fit perfectly into the sloping ceiling. The bedside tables both have brushed steel light switches and plug sockets, ideally placed for an alarm clock or phone charger by the bed. There is also a run of wardrobes and a matching vanity unit with essential hidden storage behind the mirror, and plug sockets, perfect for a hairdryer!
The doors are vinyl in the shaker style and the colour is Lissa Oak. Here are some photographs of the work... Fitzpatrick's Fitted Bedrooms' most recent project was in Read, in the beautiful Ribble Valley in Lancashire. We had the pleasure of working in a uniquely laid out property, which had a room with an angled ceiling leading down to a small entrance to the eaves.
Our customer, naturally, wanted to retain this access but wanted the space to be utilised for storage. Together, we came up with a design, using angled units which fulfilled the quota. It provided the required storage by providing 3 slim shelves, 6 deep shelves, and 2 hanging rails. The design gave easy access to the eaves, and, it looked great too! Our customer chose the board colour, Aida Walnut with a mitre-frame door, which beautifully complemented their wall colour. "From our first enquiry, Lee has conducted himself in the way that all providers should, but sadly don't. I was kept informed at each stage of the enquiry and subsequent job. Any questions I raised were clearly answered which was re-assuring throughout the contract. I am 75 years old and so can remember when the majority of providers behaved in the same way as Lee does now. Whilst Lee's work is of the highest standard, he is clearly constantly striving to improve the customer experience, and this is the secret of all good businesses." - B. Morris, Read, Lancashire Here are some photographs of each stage of the project. Fitzpatricks recently completed a sliding door job in Accrington, Lancashire, but not for a fitted bedroom or home office this time. Our customer wanted us to hide all sorts of things in their kitchen! Our customer had an awkward end of their kitchen and they wanted as much storage within it as possible, and all to be hidden behind a set of sliding doors, of which they chose soft white glass soft-closing sliders. This work just goes to show that there is a solution for every problem area in your house! The pictures show the work best, but unfortunately we didn't take any before pictures - too eager to get started! The finished design... Now let's look inside... On the left of this unit is the doorway to the under-stair area, which is still very much accessible as the unit in front of it has been made at a reduced depth. The other side of the unit houses the boiler, and we have utilised the space around it by adding drawers and useful shelves. Fitzpatricks Fitted Bedrooms completed a fitted bedroom storage unit for a previous customer in Prestwich, Manchester, in September. As you can see from the first photograph, the room had some awkward beams and walls jutting in just where you don't want them!
After listening to the customer's requirements, we designed a storage unit to incorporate everything that they wanted, and to disguise the irregular bits and pieces. In front of the pillar, we fitted a DVD rack, which made excellent use of the available space, and we built the unit neatly around the roof beam. The design of the unit is in a Driftwood PVC-edged door, and below are some pictures of the work in progress. One of Fitzpatrick's Fitted Bedrooms recent jobs in Accrington, Lancashire, was to create a work area for the kids to be able to do their homework in peace, while maximising the space at the top of the stairs. This has been created in a shaker mitre frame door in Opera Walnut. It just goes to show that if you have a need, we can create a unique and stylish solution! Fitzpatrick's latest fitted bedroom, in Wilpshire, Blackburn, was the master bedroom in the loft of the house. Our customer wanted to make the most of their space, so we designed a run of units including shelving, drawers and hanging space. We removed an existing boiler-housing and a redundant water tank, replacing this with a new unit, and incorporating some useful shelves. This is the large unit seen on the left of the photographs. We built the new in the exact position of the old, so no decorating or carpet altering would be needed.
